Atmospheric conditions from valley to peak
Kriváň is one of the best-known peaks in northern Slovakia, in the High Tatras, and it is a favorite goal for hikers looking for a classic mountain day. Its rocky slopes, alpine meadows, and wide summit views give the climb a strong Tatra feel and make the effort feel well rewarded. The best time to hike is from late June to September, when most of the snow has cleared from the higher sections and trail conditions are usually more reliable.
Summit temperature from 35° to 40°, but feels colder because of the wind. Overcast throughout the day.
