Atmospheric conditions from valley to peak
Śnieżka is the highest peak in the Sudetes and stands above Karpacz in the Karkonosze Mountains, right on the Polish-Czech border. It is a popular mountain for hikers because it offers wide open views and a distinctive summit setting that feels dramatic even on a short outing. The best time to go is from late spring to early autumn, when the trails are usually snow-free and conditions are more stable, while winter and early spring often bring ice, strong winds, and lingering snow.
Summit temperature from 39° to 46°, but feels colder because of the wind. Clear through the morning, becoming overcast in the afternoon.
